If you haven't read the series-

It is New World- full of settlers from Old World who came there not too long ago- about twenty years ago ( I don't know the exact time- if you do, please tell me!)- And they have separated. Near the ocean, near a river, lies Haven- the city. There are only a few thousand people living there. There are even less in the outlying towns, and the farthest is Prentisstown- formerly known as New Elizabeth. Prentisstown, however, is not right.
Let me explain a little. The settlers came to New World expecting to find it abandoned. Instead they find it filled with a peaceful alien species- the Spackle. New World also has several germs that are native to it- the Noise germ, that puts men's and boy's thoughts into a Noise that can be heard by everyone. The women are immune, but only human women. Even animals have Noise.
There is also the talking germ- One that gives animals the ability to talk.
Now back to the story.
They men of Prentisstown didn't like their silence- the woman's- didn't like them knowing everything about them. So they killed them. And now, Prentisstown has become an army, where, when a boy turns thirteen, he becomes a man- by killing another. And now they are ready. THey have marched through the roads, all of the way to Haven.
Sometimes the rumor of an army is just as effective as the army itself.
Haven has surrendered, and is now ruled by the former Mayor Prentiss of Prentisstown, currently President of New Prentisstown.

More info: the Mayor segregated the Spackle- a couple thousand kept as slaves- and the men from the woman. The woman were kept in their own places, only allowed to be visited, and were blamed for the attacks led by the Answer. In retaliation, the Mayor created the Ask, used to interrogate and torture woman for information regarding the Ask. Most women were put into prison.

The Answer- Led attacks against the Mayor/ New prentisstown, and is made up of mostly women- the have no Noise, and so can sneak up on people.Have a secret camp and such + explosives to help destroy the Mayor's reign.

The Ask- the opposite of the Answer, led by the MAyor (well, he prefers President) to help fight against the Answer.

Mistress COyle- Leader of the Answer, a ruthless and sometimes cruel woman. If no one roleplays her, then I will occasionally
throughout the cc.

The MAyor- Leader/President of New Pretisstown. SOmeone must rp either him or Mistress Coyle before we start- I will do one of them, but not both.

Okay, so, there are no powers of any kind. You MAY be Spackle, although I'm not sure I would recommend it. No Todd or Viola or main characters except for the Mayor and Mistress Coyle. YOu may, however, be one of the minors, such as Wilf or Corrine. This is basically taking place mid-way through The Ask and the Answer, only there is now no Viola or Todd.

I have not heard of nor read the books, but I would like to join. I would like to be Mistriss Coyle. Though I admittedly don't know much about her, she sounds interesting.

okay, um, she's basically the leader of a terrorist organization that is made up of mostly woman, and its purpose is to defeat the Mayor. The Answer has been in existence previously, in the Spackle war, and for now it's cause is to end the Mayors reign, because of his oppression of women. They attack using bombs, blowing up any buildings. At first, they started with empty buildings...
