He turned around and walked away. "Alcide? Alcide say something!" I pleaded. He looked at me, "I don't know what to say. I need time to think. Just...give me a few minutes, 'Kay?" His stone faced look turned soft and back to himself. "I'm not mad at you Shaylee. Mom...over-reacted big time...She was probably drunk but she should have never hurt you Shae." I felt tears prickle my eyes. "Don't cry, 'Kay? Promise me, no more crying. I don't like my little sis crying." His big brother grin came back and I laughed softly, tears falling. "Promise." He walked off, to think.
