I turned to see my mom staring at me, Alcide cussing rapidly in Italian at my mom. My mom walked towards me then suddenly slapped me so hard that I was sent to my butt, holding my cheek wide eyed. A memory flashed and I crawled backwards to the corner, tears falling horribly.
