"J-Jac. I-It's hurting." She whimpered through gasps as cold sweat beaded on her forehead. The pain shot into her lower back, circling from her lower back to her abdomen. It was practically killing her.

Alice shook her head, "Nothing you can do." She whimpered before, jerking for a second, the pain attacking her. She cried in agony, tears sliding out of her gray eyes. She clutched her stomach tighter, leaning over to just make the pain stop.

I stand above her, not knowing what to do. I hurry to the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water and wet cloth. I come back, grabbing a blanket on the way. I set the blanket my her feet, and brush the hair from her face. "I'm so sorry." I mumble, feeling absolutely useless.

Frowning still I offer out the cloth or water. "We're scheduling that appointment tomorrow. You can't go on like this." I tell her.

Sighing I sit my her feet, resting my elbows on my knees. "Has it been like this long?" I ask, doubting any sane doctor would let her leave his care like this.

Alice didn't feel like arguing. She nodded, "Jac. It's nice seeing you again." She whispered truthfully.

I gave her a small smile. "You too Alice." I my words are soft, guilty. "I'm sorry I left you." I say, I'm not sorry I left, I needed to, but I cut off contact with everyone, and now that I look back I hadn't needed to cut it off with Alice. I shouldn't have.

Alice nodded, "I understand why you did Jac, So no need to be sorry. I would've done the same." She looked down, hiding the shame that had come across her face.

"You know I couldn't keep racing Alice. Not, not without Dylan." I pause, breathing to keep my calm, "But I should have talked to you, you lost just as much as I had, but I just left, ran away. I'm sorry." I run a hand through my hair, tears pricking at my eyes but I hold them back. I'd gone so long without thinking of Dylan.

Alice felt tears well up and she tried so hard to not let them fall. She tried so hard, but failed. They slid down her pale and fragile looking cheeks slowly as she closed her eyes. "I'm sorry too." She whispered. Only until recently had she finally thought about Dylan, after she was finally moving on. She ruined it. She would always blame herself for his death. For not stopping him.

I offer silent condolences, trying myself to stay composed. "We should get you to bed." I say to her standing, "Unless you'd like to sleep down here." I didn't know if she should move, or if she could.

Alice nodded and tried to stand up, swaying and trembling as she did so. The pain attacks always took so much out of her, that and nearly getting hit by a car and finally talking to Jac also added to the stress. But talking to him finally was more calming than stressing.

I come to her aid, steadying her with an arm around the waist. I lead her to the stairs stopping, not sure of her shaky frame and the twelve stairs leading to the bed rooms. "Can you make it?" I asked, the alternative would be to carry her.
