Hawk glanced up at the sky. "That depends on how bad a storm it is," he said, "If I had to guess, though, I'd say roughly five days." A rather large wave crashed into the hull. It caused the boat to rock violently back and forth. Anyone who didn't have their sea-legs stumbled.

Kitiara was thrown forward by the force of the wave, bumping into Hawk and crashing into the side of the ship. The swordswoman gasped more out of frustration than pain. For someone who grew up so close to the sea, she didn't have much experience on ships.

After half a moment or so, the rocking had settled back down to a steady rhythm. Hawk helped Kitiara up. "You'll get your sea-legs soon," he smiled. Of course, sea-legs only came after you'd spent a bit of time on a boat and had gotten used to the constant motion. Most people who came on boats as passengers and weren't used to sailing fell down; a lot.

Kitiara found herself smiling back as she regained her balance, but she kept a hand on the side of the ship just in case. "Let's hope so,"
Readjusting her sword, the young woman glanced up at the foreboding sky, and then back to the blue eyes of the quartermaster.
"How long do you thnk we have before it hits?" She'd never been on a ship in a storm before.

(S'alright. )
The ship groaned slightly as a strong wind pushed against it. "Probably a few hours at most," Hawk said. He glanced around at the other sailors beginning to tie things down and loosen the sails.

The ship was a bustle of activity. "Is there anything I can do to help?" She thought of the other passangers.

[BariJoy]

A few raindrops sprinkled down. "Get everyone below deck," he said, "This storm's coming sooner than we thought." As much as he wanted to stay and talk with Kitiara, he had to direct the sailors, it was his job as quartermaster. He turned and barked orders about the sails, the rudder wheel, and whatnot.

June: I leaned back in the chair in my small office. It really wasn't that small, only it was taken up by a few operating tables and cabinate full of sharp objects and medicine. I hummed a tune and waited impatiently, little Jack snorning in the corner happily.

[Solostaran]

Kitiara nodded, and shouted for the passangers to go below, when suddenly a thought struck her. The healer. She'd be sitting in a death trap once the waves picked back up.
Kitiara ran below decks,and though she stumbled a few times the swordswoman got there quickly.
"June! Bolt the cabinents an get out of here quickly! There's a storm brewing!"

June: I numbly nodded. "I need help!" I yelled back and began to lock my cabinates. I whistled and instantly little Jack was at my side worried.

Wind began whipping around the ship. Hawk had to shout to be heard. By that rain was pouring down, soaking everything. The ship rocked violently back and forth.

[Solostaran]

Kitiara reached up and started bolting the cabinets shut as quickly as she could. They finished just as another big wave hit just and the young woman slammed into the cabinets with an audible thud. Scoopng up the dog, she held the door open. "Come on! Let's find somewhere safer to ride out the storm!"

June: I nodded and hurried out the door and collecting Jack from the woman's arms. Jack whimpered and I grumbled a few curses knowing my organization would be ruined.

With everything safely secured, Hawk barked, "Get all the passengers down to the sleeping quarters!" The sailors went down below deck to round up the passengers. Hawk did a quick double check that everything was tied down correctly, then went below deck.

The safest place Kitiara could think of were the sleeping quarters. Collecting more passangers on her way, she headed for that area of the ship.

June: It was like trying to wade through quicksand. Pretty impossible. People were ramming into us at all sides, not to mention Jack who clund to me tightly.

[Solostaran]

"Hey! Come on!" The dark haired woman shouted for order, "We're heading for the sleeping quarters- once you find yours don't leave! You'll be safer there!"
Once those passengers had been herded to their rooms, Kitiara found the healer. "June, would you please make sure no one is hurt? I'm going to make sure everyone else gets here,"
With that the swordswoman vanished down the corridor.

The ship creaked and groaned with every push from the strong wind. The ship was wonderfully built, though. She would hold together nicely, unless the storm turned into an all-out maelstorm. Of course, almost no ship in the world could survive a storm of that magnitude.
Hawk did a quick sweep of the deck just under top deck, starting on the bow end and working his way back. Not a soul to be found. That is, until he saw another person striding towards him, also checking to make sure every was down below. To his surprise, it wasn't one of the sailors; it was Kitiara.

Pulling her head out of another empty room, Kitiara found Hawk standing before her. "Hey," she said, surprised, "Did you any more passengers in the upper decks?"
She had been working her way up from the very lowest levels, sending anyone she found to their sleeping quarters.

[BariJoy]

Hawk shook his head slightly. "Not a soul to be found," he said, "It would appear everyone is in their sleeping quarters. Speaking of which, you should probaly head over to yours." A loud boom of thunder shook the ship. Rough waves pounded against the hull. It was certain to be a bad storm. The ones that started so suddenly like this were always worse.

As if to prove his point, the swordswoman was tossed forward for the umpteenth time, just barely catching herself from falling. Gritting her teeth, Kitiara stood back up straight.
"You're probably right... Is it really bad out there?" The amber-eyed woman was worried about their mission, worried that they'd be sent to the bottom of Davy Jone's locker before they could ever do any good.

[BariJoy]

"It's not too bad," Hawk said reassuringly, "There aren't any whirlpools, tidal waves, or anything like that." Guessing, correctly, that Kitiara was worried about whether or not the ship would make it to the new world, he continued, "The ship'll pull through alright. She's sturdily built. Don't worry, she won't fall apart on us." The ship groaned loudly as if it seriously doubted that. "Come on now. You'd best be off to your sleeping quarters."

Her eyes widened at the words 'whirlpools' and 'tital waves', but Kitiara was somewhat releived by his words. She nodded and turned back towards the stairs. "It's just imparitive that we reach our destination; there are so many lives at stake,"

"Of course, Kitiara," Hawk said with a slight bow, "Rest assured the ship will reach her destination no later than planned." Another clap of thunder boomed through. Hawk frowned slightly than went back up to the top deck. Sure enough, the sails were being tossed around roughly by the whipping wind. They'd have to be lowered, or they ran the risk of tearing a sail. Hawk went back down to the sailors' sleeping quarters, which were seperate from those of the passengers, and asked for a few volunteers.

The swordswoman's brow furrowed. The bow wasn't nessessary- she was only a mercenary, a common fighter. Sighing she thought, I need to lighten up.
When Hawk left she hesitated, torn between her curiosity and going back to her room. Finally Kitiara decided that she'd only be in the way on deck and headed downstairs.
