Kiara: I glanced at the boy. The gun was near my face- if he pulled the trigger, there would be no surviving. "I am who I am. And who might you be? Leo?" The sharp blade of steel in my hand was nowhere near as sharp as my voice. I reached one hand up to the bun of hair atop my head. One pin, and the boy would be dead. That was all I needed. I had to kill him, or else I wouldn't be able to get the target. And that was as good as being dead.

Sauda: Slowly, I moved my hand down to my foot. I felt my fingertips brush against the tip of my own dagger. I grabbed it, flipping the girl onto her back with lightening speed and knocking her dagger out of her hand. "Think you can handle her, Rowan?" I asked the boy standing behind me, his gun now to my head.
