I still had a dagger, and that was the Loenor girl. I slipped behind her and held up the dagger to her neck, and took out another pin. I could stab her in the shoulder if need be. The only part of me that showed was the tips of my fingers. Other than that, light passed me by, and I was invisible

I tried to get away. Maybe stab the girl. Ugh. First time failed is your first time dead. Simple as that. No one would bother to listen to anything, anyways. I hated my job.

Kiara: I couldn't go back. I couldn't stay here. Since I had failed, I wouldn't go back. I took the trouble of standing. My leg. Ugh. Medical attention. Yippee. Now I probably had to go back. But I couldn't. Panic welled up, bubbling to the surface...

Kiara: I stumbled further. I just couldn't go back, not when I'd failed. But I had to. The panic took hold and I was walking, somehow, when I fell. I moaned. "Don't cry. You've had worse..." Blackness crept closer at the edges of my sight, panic filling the rest.
